A video showing a robbery in San Francisco’s Chinatown was posted on YouTube this week.
According to the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD), the incident happened early Wednesday morning. The female victim reported the robbery at the SFPD Central Station around noon. She said she was attacked at Grant Avenue and Jackson Street around 6 a.m. by a man who took her belongings and pushed her to the ground before running away.
Police called paramedics to help the victim, who was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The video of the incident shows the robbery in detail. The time stamp on the video is 5:47 a.m., just before sunrise. It shows the woman walking on the sidewalk when the man suddenly rushes up behind her. No one else is around. The man grabs her by the arms, wrists, or hands and swings her around as she screams.
He then pushes her to the ground and falls on top of her. He grabs what looks like a purse but leaves behind her yellow shopping bag.
Police said no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
