Police in Round Rock have arrested a teenager in connection with a shooting at a Juneteenth celebration that killed two women and injured up to 14 others.

The Round Rock Chief of Police, Allen Banks, announced on Thursday morning that 17-year-old Ricky Thompson III was arrested by a fugitive task force in Pflugerville around 7:30 a.m. Thompson is being held in Williamson County Jail on a charge of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Thompson’s bond amount has not been set yet, and it’s not known if he has a lawyer to represent him.

According to Banks, police believe Thompson was one of several individuals shooting at each other in Old Settlers Park on Saturday night.

The two women killed were Lyndsey Vicknair, an attorney from Mansfield who lived in Manor, Texas, with her husband Kevin and their three children, and Ara Duke, who worked in education in Austin. Up to 14 others, who were innocent bystanders, were reportedly injured in the gunfire.
