A man named Henry Corral was arrested after a shooting at a Colorado hotel that left one person dead and two others injured. The incident happened early Sunday, and Corral was found after a search by police on the ground and in the air.
Police were called to the Sunset Inn Hotel just after 2 a.m. Sunday for reports of gunshots. They found three people shot, and two of them were taken to the hospital in critical condition. Sadly, one of the victims died.
After the shooting, Corral tried to escape but crashed his car. He then attempted to steal another car but was unsuccessful and ran away.
Police, along with the U.S. Marshals Service and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, conducted a search for Corral, involving aircraft and 40 police officers, going from door to door and building to building.
Corral faces several charges, including attempted first-degree murder, first-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, and criminal attempt of aggravated robbery.
Alamosa, where the shooting occurred, is a small city in southern Colorado, with a population of around 10,000 people. It is located about 30 miles from the New Mexico border and approximately 165 miles southwest of Colorado Springs.
