In Spokane, a man got arrested by the police for using a slingshot to break some big windows at a local business. This caused about $30,000 worth of damage.
The business, located on North Maple Street, found out about the broken windows on May 22 at 10 a.m. They saw that three big windows had shattered from something small, like a metal ball, the night before. Each window costs about $10,000.
Someone who works at the business had a video of the incident. It showed a man named Robert Sherer, who’s 53 years old, shooting the metal ball at the windows around 9:30 p.m. on May 21.
The person who had the video knew Sherer from before and knew where he might be staying.
The police went to Sherer’s apartment on West Gardner Avenue. They started looking into it and found enough evidence to arrest him.
They got permission to search his apartment and found a slingshot and a metal ball that matched the one used at the business.
Sherer got taken to jail. He’s facing charges for causing serious damage to property, and also for breaking a rule about staying away from someone else.
