A young girl from East Palo Alto went missing in the Bay Area for many weeks. The San Jose Police Department found her in a car trunk. She was first reported missing on February 25. The police said a man kidnapped her and made her do sexual things with people for money.

The girl was forced to stay and do things against her will. She was threatened if she didn’t do what she was told. The police in East Palo Alto and the Human Trafficking Task Force in San Jose worked together to investigate.

On March 25, detectives found the girl in the trunk of a car parked outside a house in San Jose. The police didn’t say how old the girl was.

They found out that a 22-year-old named Jolaun Canton was involved in trafficking the girl. About four weeks later, the police stopped Canton while he was driving.

He ran away but the police caught him after chasing him on foot. They found a gun that’s not legally registered, called a ghost gun.

Canton is now in jail in Santa Clara County. He’s facing charges for trafficking a child, running away from the police, and having a gun illegally. He’s not allowed to get out on bail, according to jail records.
