The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office is warning people about a mountain lion sighting. This is the second sighting in a short time. The latest sighting was in an orchard off Peltier Road in Lodi.

Deputies are searching the area to catch the mountain lion. They also looked in Acampo after the first sighting but didn’t find the animal then.

The sheriff’s office wants to remind everyone that mountain lions are dangerous. They advise people to stay alert and keep their pets indoors.

If you see a mountain lion in the county, please call the sheriff’s office at 209-468-4400 and choose Option 1.
