Police in Boston are looking into a big fight involving about 100 people that happened on Carson Beach in South Boston on Friday night.

During the fight, one man was stabbed but his injuries are not life-threatening.

Residents like Rob Davis from Quincy are upset by the incident. He said, “The fights on Carson, that was horrible, and it makes me sad to hear what’s going on at our local beaches.”

To prevent such incidents, the Department of Conservation and Reservation (DCR) and other state agencies had a press conference earlier that day. DCR Commissioner Brian Arrigo mentioned, “As the weather gets nicer, there are more people that can lead to more challenges, but we are prepared for it.”

DCR has taken steps to improve safety, including adding multi-lingual signs and hiring more lifeguards who can speak different languages. They are also increasing patrols in areas like Revere Beach, where there have been violent incidents involving large groups.

Rob Davis, who walks five miles a day and enjoys the beach, wants to see more police patrolling the beaches to ensure everyone’s safety. He said, “Making sure everybody feels safe. The people who come here feel wanted, and can enjoy this beautiful beach.”

The police are still investigating the incident, and no arrests have been made yet.
