Several people were hurt while trying to leave a Baltimore pride event. The incident happened after a “chemical agent” was released and fireworks were set off in the crowd on Saturday evening, as per Baltimore Police.

Around 8:30 p.m., officers at the Pride Parade were told that a possible chemical agent, like mace or hair spray, was released into the crowd near the main music stage, according to the police.

Fireworks were also set off in the same area, causing many people to leave quickly and get injured in the process.

Firefighters helped those who were hurt, and the event was closed down.

The police didn’t say how many people were injured.

Officials are still figuring out what kind of chemical was used and are looking at surveillance videos to understand what happened. They don’t think it was a planned attack.
