California’s latest group of lottery winners are getting checks ranging from $1,000 to $5 million thanks to some lucky scratch-off tickets.
In El Cajon, Joshua Flores made a quick stop at Walmart for diapers and ended up winning money instead. He bought a Mystery Crossword Scratchers ticket from the machine inside the store.
“I have two babies, so I needed two sizes of diapers. I thought I’d just spend this ten bucks,” Flores told the California Lottery. “I was so excited that I called my girlfriend to tell her. It was pretty cool. I went back in and got more diapers!”
In Newport Beach, Lucy Sansosti won $5 million on a 2024 Scratchers ticket she bought at an Arco gas station.
Arturo Saludes won $2 million with an Instant Prize Crossword Scratchers ticket he got from the A-1 Valley Market Deli in Lake Elsinore.
Christopher Powers won $1 million with an Xtreme Multiplier Scratchers ticket from EZ Foodmart in Bakersfield.
In Oceanside, Deloria Cooper won $5 million with a 100X Scratchers ticket bought at a 7-Eleven on Via Las Rosas.
In the Bay Area, Grace Chu won $10 million playing California 200X. She got her ticket from the 7-Eleven at 5724 Thornton Avenue in Newark.
Also in the Bay Area, Daniel Fissaha won $5 million with a 100X Scratchers ticket he bought at Tip Top Liquors in San Jose.
