A Michael Jordan basketball card from 2003-04, with his autograph and featuring the NBA logo, sold for $2.928 million, making it the most expensive Jordan card ever sold. These types of cards, called Logoman cards, are rare and usually have only one copy. This particular card is special because it’s the first Jordan Logoman card with a Chicago Bulls jersey. The card got an “Authentic” grade from PSA and a perfect 10 for the autograph.

Goldin, the company that sold the card, had been promoting it as a “long lost” item. This was the first time it was available for public auction since it was last confirmed to be with PSA in 2022.

According to Goldin’s founder, this card is the best and most valuable Michael Jordan card ever made and is highly sought after by collectors.

While this card set a record for the most expensive Jordan card, the overall record for sports cards is still held by a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card that sold for $12.6 million in 2022. The most expensive sports memorabilia record is currently held by a jersey worn by Jordan during the 1998 NBA Finals, which sold for $10.1 million in 2022.

In the same auction, a Kobe Bryant game-worn jersey from the Los Angeles Lakers’ 80th game of the 2013 season sold for $1.2 million. This game was memorable because Bryant tore his Achilles but still made two free throws before leaving the game.
