Gov. Newsom Announces Hybrid Work Opportunities in California State Jobs

Looking for remote work in California? The state is hiring for various positions with a hybrid schedule.

State jobs offer competitive benefits and enrollment in the largest state public pension plan. Some positions may require working in-office at least two days per week, as announced by Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration in April. However, as of June 7, some jobs are listed as remote-centered.

Here are some of the latest state jobs offering remote or hybrid work on the CalCareers website:

  1. Department: California State Teachers’ Retirement System
    Location: Yolo County
    Salary: $6,760 to $8,398 per monthThe safety and emergency services manager oversees emergency response program standards and staff safety. This position offers a hybrid work schedule with up to two days of remote work per week, but additional in-office work days may be required. Application deadline: June 17.
  2. Department: California Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety
    Location: Sacramento County
    Salary: $5,684 to $7,114 per monthThe contracting and procurement analyst supports the Procurement Unit, handling technical and analytical duties for both IT and non-IT goods and services.
