Police in Gloucester County are looking for a car that hit a woman and drove away early Wednesday morning. Anthony DiSanti, who was delivering bread, saw the woman on the road outside Chestnut Ridge Middle School in Washington Township. He stopped and called 911 to help her.

The woman had injuries to her face and was bleeding. She asked for help, worried about being hit again by passing cars. DiSanti comforted her until the police arrived. The woman was then taken to Cooper University Hospital’s Trauma Center.

Surveillance video shows the woman walking on the road before she was hit. The police believe the car that hit her is a 2020 to 2024 Hyundai Sonata, possibly dark in color, and should have damage to the front.

Police Chief Patrick Gurcsik urged the driver to come forward. DiSanti, who has never experienced such an incident on his route before, hopes the case is solved soon. He emphasized the importance of stopping and helping if you hit someone.
