Guests at an amusement park in Oregon were left hanging upside down when a ride had a problem on Friday. Portland Fire and Rescue were called to Oaks Park after the “AtmosFEAR” ride, which swings back and forth like a pendulum, got stuck.

This happened on the park’s first day of opening for the summer. About 30 people were stuck upside down until they could be helped. Video taken by Chris Ryan showed the ride stuck vertically, with people gathered around watching.

One park employee said this had never happened before. Engineers and fire officials worked together to manually lower the ride. Everyone on the ride is being evacuated and checked by medical staff.

Officials don’t think anyone was seriously hurt. They’re still investigating what caused the ride to malfunction.
