A 25-year-old man named Christian Inga has been arrested in connection with a violent sexual attack on children that has frightened the Queens community in New York City. The incident happened after school last Thursday when Inga allegedly ambushed two 13-year-olds in a park, forced them into the woods at knifepoint, and tied them up before sexually assaulting the girl.
NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said Inga entered the U.S. from Ecuador through Eagle Pass, Texas, on June 25, 2021. People living with him in a rooming house recognized him from NYPD wanted posters.
Jeffrey Flores, who saw a police sketch and video of Inga on a bike, recognized him. Flores and some friends waited at a bodega on 108th and Waldron streets, where Inga often went for cigarettes and drinks. They waited for hours until Inga showed up in the middle of the night.
“I told everybody, ‘yo, this is the rapist.’ I punched him. I kicked him. I ain’t gonna lie,” said Flores.
