Nicholas Hostetler, 25, was arrested after allegedly attacking two elderly men in random assaults in Campbell, California, earlier this month.

On May 4, Hostetler reportedly punched a man on San Tomas Aquino Road and then ran away. Surprisingly, he stopped and posed for a photo taken by the victim, hoping to identify his attacker. The police shared this photo on social media, asking for help in finding the suspect.

The second incident occurred on a Friday morning when a 75-year-old man was out for a walk near Inwood Drive and Elam Avenue. Hostetler allegedly punched this man in the face. Later, when the victim and his family returned to the area to look for surveillance cameras, they saw Hostetler again. Hostetler attempted to fight the family before leaving.

Police arrested Hostetler on Saturday after contacting his parents, who helped bring him out of their home. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on two counts of elder abuse. During booking, Hostetler allegedly kicked an officer, leading to an additional charge of battery of an officer.

The Campbell Police Department thanked the community for their help and assured them that they are thoroughly investigating these incidents.
