The continuation of school for students through technology has given many the opportunity to explore and experience the responsibility of using such given devices. Google recently donated 4,000 Chromebooks to assist students with distance learning. Because many students have access to the internet, many community centers are hosting virtual activities for all ages to participate.

The City of Sacramento’s Youth Division in part of the Department of Youth, Parks, & Community Enrichment have created a recreation page committed to staying connected with the community through healthy resources. Programs such as START and The 4th R have activities and games such as balloon tennis, how to make slime, cooking videos, and science projects for safe fun at home.

The Recreation Page is an all age resource. There are events and online wellness programs for older adults to participate in such as bingo and community chat forums to build awareness and provide support for others.

The Parks & Rec. page has an abundance of diverse services and programs for the City of Sacramento to help cope with these trying times.

Follow their instagram page for updates on programs and activities.
