The Humanitarian Action Network, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit, will be hosting their 5th annual “Winter Homeless Care Package Project Assembly event” on Saturday, December 7th.

This project is aimed to benefit the unsheltered homeless people of Sacramento, during the harsh cold winter months.

This Care Package Assembly will be held from 11am to 1pm at Kupros Craft House.

According to the Sacramento Point in Time (PIT) Homeless Count released this summer by Sacramento Steps Forward, 70% of the 5,570 homeless people that experience homeless in Sacramento, on any given night, are unsheltered.

HAN has created an Amazon wish list and a Walmart Registry that will have items purchased, directly shipped to them until November 28th.

The Humanitarian Action Network has been coordinating with Two Rivers Cider Company on 4311 Attawa Ave, and has made this a drop off location for the next several weeks. Items that are being encouraged to drop off are things like winter socks, new or gently used backpacks, beanies and scarves, and dog food.
