I’m Ivan Caballero and four months ago I began working for Accesslocal.Tv. Since the very first moment I was told that I had the job as a news correspondent to the present day has been spectacular. I have had lots experience since the beginning of this job. I’m very happy that I had the opportunity to have been able to be a part of this program.
I work with three other amazing co-workers named Fabiana Davila-Viera, Kiara Crenshaw, and David Alcala; a very fun group of people that I could easily and smoothly get along with. They’ve helped provide me with information when I needed it and as well gave me advice on my articles and videos. I’m absolutely amazed on how my relationship has grown with them.
On Mondays and Wednesdays we go to the studio to plan our week of articles and videos. Surprisingly, since day one, it hasn’t felt like a job at all. It has felt more of a group hangout because I get along so well with my co-workers and my News Editor Isaac Gonzalez. I’m very thankful to have a very fun group of co-workers to join me along with the four months working for Accesslocal.tv
I’ve learned a lot since I began this job. When I first was introduced to journalism via Access Local, I knew almost nothing about it. I wasn’t very interested in writing at all. But within the first three weeks, I began to realize that this is actually very exciting and interesting. I have progressed a lot since then, I’d like to think so. When I first began writing, it took me over four days to complete a 250 word article. Now, I can do that in about three hours. As a matter in fact, I’ve been writing this article for only about 15 minutes.
Overall, throughout these four months, I have enjoyed working for AcessLocal.Tv and I am glad that I got to spend it with an amazing News Editor and amazing co-workers.
