Hometown Sports Game of the Week
Concurrent with the conclusion of summer vacation and the annual back-to-school blitz onto local area campuses, the commencement of a new fall semester also rings the bell for high school student-athletics preparing to burst upon the scene.
This call to action also signals the re-emergence of Access Sacramento’s Hometown Sports Game of the Week (GOTW). Since its origination in 1996, Game of the Week concludes its second decade in existence by launching its usual compliment of exciting football telecasts throughout Sacramento County, including fourteen teams ranked in Dimino’s Dozen Pre-Season Top-20 Rankings.
Opening the 2015 football season, Game of the Week will be on hand to cover defending Sac-Joaquin Section D-6 Champion Capital Christian when the Cougars host the Rio Americano Raiders on Friday, August 28th in a high school Week-Zero telecast to kickoff the first of eleven gridiron clashes.
The remainder of the first half broadcast schedule includes Laguna Creek vs. Christian Brothers, Oak Ridge – featuring Notre Dame-bound quarterback Ian Book – vs. Burbank, Rio Linda vs. Foothill, and defending CIF Sac-Joaquin Section D-2 champion Grant vs. Franklin.

Announcers (From Left) Sideline Interviewer Rick Stewart, Play by Play Will James, Analyst Jim Dimino.
The first half of the television schedule is punctuated by a high profile girls volleyball telecast, as the Christian Brothers Falcons host powerhouse St. Francis.
The second half of the broadcast slate opens with a major clash between two perennial heavyweights, as Del Oro visits defending SJS and CIF D-1 State Champion Folsom.
The remainder of the second half match-ups include Cosumnes Oaks vs. Del Campo, Valley vs. Sacramento, Antelope vs. Del Campo, Jesuit vs. Monterey Trail and Franklin vs. Pleasant Grove.
These entrees featured on Access Sacramento’s 2015 GOTW menu are sure to provide a feast for high school football and volleyball fans.
