Crocker Art Museum is in the planning phase of hosting a Block by Block Party. Crocker Art Museum is looking for local artists, musicians, creative folks, and local organizations to participate in the block party. The artist, musicians, and creative folks that will participate in the block party will get to showcase their work to the people who attend the block party.
Crocker Art Museum’s goal is to have people all around Sacramento enjoy the block party.
The block party is already funded by a grant from The James Irvine Foundation that specializes in art engagement.
The James Irvine Foundation located in San Francisco is a foundation that focuses on improving California, and the diversity in arts. Their main goal is to expand diversity art and focus on cultures. They also want to help low-income families receive more funds and have a better education. The foundation has already given out 3,600 grants which equals up to $1.5 million dollars. The grants were given to non-profits located in California that are engaged in arts. They also give grants to ten top museums in California.
