Walk and Give

Go for a walk and show your support for the things and ideas you care about. Our first guest will be talking about “A Walk to Remember” and our second guests are from The Sacramento Region Community Foundation will be on the program to talk about the Day of Giving.

Betty Hall, a loving mother who lost her son to war created “A Walk to Remember” to help honor American Heroes. The event was created in honor of Betty’s son, Bryan E. Hall. She created the Bryan E. Hall Memorial Education Scholarship fund in his honor. The walk is happening in Elk Grove at the Elk Grove Regional Park on April 12th at 9am followed by a picnic lunch provided to the participants.

You may wish you could volunteer but just cannot find the time, another way to support the things you love about our community can come in the way of a small monetary donation. The Big Day of Giving or “Big DoG” asks you to save the date of May 6th from midnight to midnight to Give Local Now. It is an annual fundraising challenge when just for one day you will be challenged to ‘give where your heart is’ and donate to your favorite local nonprofit organization or 2. You donation will matched by generous sponsors on this Day of Giving (up to amount donated for matching) A small donation can go a long way on this special day. Guests from the Sacramento Region Community Foundation will be on the show to share more information.
