Graduation for high school seniors is right around the corner, and many have started considering all of their options for the future. For some, that includes filling out forms for financial aid, applying to colleges and trade schools, and finding access to scholarships. One organization located right here in Sacramento is doing their part to provide teenagers with an opportunity to further their education.

The Kosmos Civic Club, Inc. is offering a scholarship to eager high school seniors. Those who apply must complete an application, provide a picture, write a minimum 500 word essay, have three letters of recommendation, and provide official transcripts that have been signed and sealed by a counselor. Completed applications must be turned in before May 10th of 2014. Hopeful applicants should be warned that incomplete applications will not be accepted.

The Kosmos Civic Club, Inc. is an organization of African American women interested in benefiting the entire Sacramento community. The Kosmos Civic Club, Inc. was first founded in 1971, and has blossomed from there. As stated on their website, the non-profit organization is “dedicated to promoting unity and friendship among themselves and to the community.”
