With August ending and September right around the corner, 2013 brings a number of events that community members may find interesting, educational and fun. This line up of events will certainly have something for everyone young and old.

The BloodSource Blood Drive at Regal Natomas brings a heartwarming ending to August. For any who may be unfamiliar with BloodSource, this organization is committed to working with communities in providing a readily supply of safe blood. Participants who attend the drive will also receive a free Regal Cinemas movie pass, good for one use.

Have you wanted to get a pet for a while? Have your children been asking you for a kitten? Or a puppy? Well you are in luck! September 13-15th is National Adoption Weekend! Now you can get that cat you think looks like Simba from The Lion King, or get that cute puppy your kids have been asking for.

When: Sep. 13-15th

Home gardening has started to gain more popularity. According to a survey done by the National Gardening Association shows “a welcome increase of 2 million more households (2%) in 2012 compared with the year before (Garden Market Research, par. 2).” This is nationwide!! If home gardening interests you then you will really find this event to your liking; Composting for the Home Gardener.
