“Wine , Film, and Theater!”

This week on LiveWire we’ll feature guests from the Sacramento International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, DDSO’s “Uncork for the Arts”, and the play “Kitchen Witches”. Three great events in Sacramento that will be sure to please the heart and mind.

Guests from the Sacramento International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival will be on the show to tell us all about this year’s festival. The festival was founded by Allen Cole in 1992 and celebrates it’s 20th anniversary this year. The festival includes short films and feature length films. It is happening at the Crest Theatre  at 10th and K Street in Downtown Sacramento. It starts October 11th and continues through the weekend on October 12th and 13th.

Also joining us this week will be guests from DDSO. They are having their fundraiser called “Uncork for the Arts”. It is a wine tasting and art exhibit event that features wine by CARITA that was “created exclusively to benefit programs that serve adults with developmental disabilities” according to their website. The event will be held on Friday, October 19th at 7pm. Come on out and join the event for a good time and a good cause.

For more details about the event and DDSO log on to their website at www.DDSO.org.

We’ll also be visited by the “Kitchen Witches” Deborah Shalhoub and Michele Koehler. They will be giving a sneak preview of the play which takes a comedic look at a reality Tv cooking show and the chaos and competition between these two cooks as they try to one up each other on the set. The play opens at California Stage and is presented by Ovation Stage. It runs from October 27th through November 18th. Let’s get cooking!
