If you are a youth based group looking for some funding for a project or an event you should consider applying for a GABY Grant. GABY stands for Grants Advisory Board for Youth. The Sacramento Region Community Foundation’s created the board in 2002 with a mission to help youth flourish their knowledge of humanitarianism, skills for serving their community, and resources to effectuate youth-led projects.

Since then the board has granted over $437,000 to 228 youth-led projects throughout the Sacramento region. If you are interested in applying for a GABY grant here’s a few things you should consider. GABY has a very strict no fundraising policy witch simply means you cannot use the money granted to you to fundraise of off.

Next, your project or event should some how pertain to the GABY theme of living well. Lastly, GABY requires all grantees to attend the GABY Convening. The convening is where grantees have the opportunity to present their project or event, connect with other grantees share ideas and network.
