This year, I will be incoming senior at Hiram Johnson High School. Starting your last year of high school is such a scary thought because you realize that in just a few months you will be sent out into the world on your own and you will have to deal with the adult problems of life. It is also exciting because you think finally I get to make the rules and do what I want, in a way it’s like freedom is not that far away.

But the thought of senior year may also cause you to think of the stress that lays ahead, from trying to make good grades, to trying to get into college, figuring out how you’re going to pay for it and do an awesome Senior project, the list goes on. It makes you wonder how did all the seniors before me make it through all of these things, it seems like too much for one person.

But one thing to always remember is that if those that came before can do it, so can you, and you may even do it better. As I senior, I have decided that I am going to take everything I have to do and break it up into parts and take it all one part at a time so that I won’t be overwhelmed. I learned that through out high school when I got overwhelmed is usually when I began to mess up and now I take things bit by bit. I have even decided to be apart of some new clubs and help plan some fun senior events as a way to ease the stress for all of my peers and provide an outlet when I need a break from my studies.

I also plan to have as much fun as I possibly can and to participate in all the school activities, because you only get to be a senior once and when it’s over it’s over. So it’s best to snap a lot of pictures and enjoy the little time you have left in high school, and when you look back you’ll have good memories.
