Whether you were raised in a single parent home, between two parents, in a home with both parents, two moms, two dads, step parents… or any other family members, parenthood is a blessing. No matter who raised you, they are your parent. There is no greater gift in the world than to love and be loved back so unconditionally. Once you have a child they’re your responsibility until death. Even after the age of eighteen, they always come home for something. But that’s what’s great about it; even through the fights and struggles, they’re life long friends and there will always be an unbreakable bond and everlasting love.
I’ve only just recently became a mother, but it is already the most incredible experience of my life. I’ve never cared more deeply for anyone, and nobody has ever genuinely missed me as much as my daughter does, even when I just go to school for four hours. As soon as I get home, I am showered with hugs and kisses. Being a single parent is very difficult, but I have the best help and support from my own parents. They just can’t shake me!
Regardless of that, I am happy with the way things have happened. This will just show my daughter to be a strong independent woman and that family will always be there when you most need it. Parenthood is a gift from God, whichever yours may be. You can’t just have a baby and automatically think you’re a parent. It’s the ones who give up everything and struggle to achieve the best for a child that is truly a parent. I am proud to say I am a parent. And I applaud everyone else that has raised or is raising children. It takes a special breed to give a child good morals and live by standards, especially in this day and age.
