“Film, Art, Fun”

Our first guest on Livewire this week is Cecile Mouette-Downs, Executive and Artistic Director for the Sacramento French Film Festival. This year’s the festival runs June 15th through 24th at the Crest Theatre on K Street in Downtown Sacramento. Films this year include many genres and new and classic feature length films including “Children of Paradise”, The Snows of Kilimanjaro”, “Hollywoo…”, and “The Day I Saw Your Heart”.

Our second guest on this week’s show is Harry Moos from Friends of the Fair. He will be on the show to talk about this year’s State fair which runs from July 12th to 29th. He’ll be sharing information on how you can get involved in Friends of the Fair, thier scholarship programs, and grape and Gourmet annual event. This year’s state fair is at Cal Expo and will feature many great indoor and outdoor exhibits such as Ag Ventureland, which features local agriculture, animals, and garden exhibits. There will be tho ever-popular Destruction Derby and Golden Bear Amatuer Boxing, The Stilt Circus, Wizard’s Challenge, and more!And don’t forget all that wonderful California Art on display. The youth section is particulalry inspiring and features artwork from many local students.

Lastly, LiveWire is happy to present local artist, Z. E Pangborn. You might remember him from the Sac Bee article in 2009 where he was featured for having the tiniest gallery in Sacramento. His gallery may have been tiny, but his art has no limits. Now located just outside of town, his larger gallery has enough room to showcase most of his work and some of his other artist friends’ work, too. His artwork is inspired by his dreams and meditations and he takes cues from nature and Star Wars, according to his website.
