Fans of TV’s globe-trotting race game can now test their strategies and stellar clue-solving prowess right here in Sacramento! Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS) is preparing to host the 4th annual Race for the Ring on July 14, 2012. Hundreds of Sacramento area residents will return for this exciting, location-based game where clues and answers are exchanged via text messages. Participants race from location to location on bike, scooter or foot throughout Downtown and Midtown solving riddles and interactive challenges. Points are awarded for each correctly answered question or properly completed challenge and the team with the most points at the end wins! Prizes include jewelry from Rogers Jewelry Company and gifts from Sacramento-area vendors.

The $50 registration fee for any team includes two race shirts, entrance into the after-party, lunch, a chance to win amazing prizes and a guaranteed day of fun. 100% of the proceeds support SFBFS’ programs. For the price of a modest dinner for two, any pair of friends, relatives, co-workers or those hoping to become engaged can support families in need in our community.

In an effort to keep the event fun and competitive, we’ve limited registration to the first 500 teams. In addition to the top 10 finishers winning incredible prizes, prizes will also be awarded to best team name and best-accessorized bicycles. A silent auction will also be offered to raise funds for SFBFS.

For those who can’t make it out for the event or are not the world’s best texter, individuals can be a virtual racer. Participants still receive shirts, may join the after party and the registration fee supports SFBFS.
