Our condolences go out to the Babin Family and to his many friends at the Sacramento Bee. A memorial service will be held in his memory on Sunday April 15 from 2-4 PM in the Courtyard between the California Museum and the Secretary of State’s Office.
Mr. Babin was the co-writer and co-director of a “Place Called Sacramento” film in 2005 called “Breezer”. The short film is a conversation between two young men as they walk along Broadway, reminiscing about Sacramento, including the cooling breeze that rolls in from the Bay Area every hot, summer evening.
The short film will be shown at the public memorial and also on our channel 17.
Mr. Babin is remembered by who knew him and those who enjoyed his daily Bee editorial cartoons. A memorial fund has been established for his son Sebastian at any Bank of America branch.
