Recent pedestrian versus automobile incidents in South Sacramento have brought to the forefront yet again the need to create safe streets for all of their users, on foot or on wheels. At this critical time it’s more important than ever for the community to discuss ideas and strategies so that we can begin to make our streets more navigable for pedestrians and bicyclists.

Sacramento Council member Kevin McCarty, Sacramento City Unified School District  Board Member Gustavo Arroyo, and other community partners are coming together to facilitate the dialogue at a meeting to address pedestrian safety and community concerns. It is their hope that citizens will participate and provide feedback so that the proper organizations understand the needs of the people.

The gathering will take place on March 8 at the Colonial Heights Library Community Room, 4799 Stockton Boulevard beginning at 6:30. To see a flyer from the meeting that you can share with your neighbors, click here.
