Culminating a “rewarding” partnership, Access Sacramento and the City of Rancho Cordova were awarded the 2011 WAVE Award for “Professional Performing Arts Video Coverage” of the “I-Fest Celebration”. I-Fest is a wonderful outdoor annual event, celebrated by hundreds of residents honoring Rancho Cordova’s cultural diversity. The four-camera video production, emceed by Francie Dillon, captured the spirit and excitement of Chinese dragon dances, marshal arts demonstrations, ethnic dance groups, choral singing and much more.

In a brief ceremony before the start of the City Council meeting this evening, Ron Cooper, Access Executive Director, will present a WAVE Award plaque to the City and thank the City Council for organizing the event.

When asked to comment, Cooper said, “We are so pleased the Alliance for Community Media, WAVE Award judging committee has honored our joint I-Fest production effort. Rancho Cordova truly is an ‘All American City’. The artists and performance pieces were colorful and exciting to watch. Our Hometown crew with Chief Engineer Richard Langley and the Rancho Cordova event coordinator Shelly Blanchard worked together smoothly and efficiently. We thank their crews and honor all for their hard work.”
