Two new people have joined the Access Sacramento Board.

Nahid Kabbani is founder of the One World for Love and Peace, whose mission is to promote global harmony and cultural understanding through media.

She is also host and producer of “The Light House 4 Today’s Viewers”, a bi-weekly Access television show. Kabbani has a B.A. in Journalism from Kuwait University, and is a member of the Arab America Press Guild, Toastmasters of Sacramento and the National Visiting Teachers Association.

“I wanted to help the community and bring a new voice to Access Sacramento,” says Kabbani, who joined the Access Sacramento Board on September 15th.

She first started producing following the events of September 11th, to shed light on that topic and reach out to people through media.

The second person to join the Access Sacramento Board is Leon Harris.

“After becoming a member, I became very interested in the board and what they do,” says Harris, who started taking classes at Access Sacramento in January 2011.   Harris worked as a supervisor at the Department of Motor Vehicles from 1991 to 1995. In 1995 he became an inspector for DMV, issuing occupational licenses, conducting on-site inspections of business establishments, performing background checks, preparing reports and training new inspectors.  He retired in 2009.

Harris studied Political Science at West Los Angeles College.

Both Harris and Kabbani look forward to being a part of the Access Sacramento Board and providing the station with new voices.
