Local football coaches and officials gathered for the NFF kick-off breakfast. The room at the Dante Club was packed, welcoming more than 35 different programs and league officials representing high school football programs throughout the region. Will James, Jim Dimino and Ron Cooper joined the group representing the Access Sacramento’s “Game-of-the-Week production team.

Cooper spoke to the group. “Since 1996, we have been proud to be associated with high school football and girls and boys basketball.” he stated proudly. “So many young people today lack strong leadership examples in their lives. Each of your programs demonstrates the value of passion, teamwork, and effective leadership. Access Sacramento sports programming demonstrates the rewards of fair play and team accomplishments”.

The GOTW crew records each Friday night’s premiere match-up for playback the following week. The weekly playback schedule is: Tuesdays at 7:00 PM, Friday at 8:00 PM, and Saturdays at Noon on Channel 17 and streamed at these same days and times on the web site AccessSacramento.org for the region and college coaches around the country to view. Additionally, all games are posted regionally to Comcast “On-Demand” for at least 3 months, each game receiving from 800-3,000 view “orders”. Web site SacBee.com also shows highlights of the games each week within 24 hours of each game.

The season begins this week with the replay of Franklin vs. Sheldon tomorrow (Tuesday 7 PM) and next week with the long awaited (and sold-out) re-match of visiting Long Beach Poly at Grant High. Games continue for 15 weeks throughout the season and regional playoffs. Cooper concluded, “Watching the extensive GOTW replays with commentary and analysis by Will and Jim is a master class in high school football techniques and strategies for players, coaches and game officials.  We look forward to another great season.”
