The evening show started promptly at 7:00 PM as the late crowd continued to file in. Humor Times Editor-in-Chief and master of ceremonies for the evening, James Israel, was welcomed. Local improv comedy troop Anti-Cooperation League warmed up the room followed by the mysteries of Bosco the magician.
Just as the MC was welcoming Sister Swing to the stage, there was a commotion in the back of the room. The audience warmly welcomed “Marilyn Monroe” as she worked her way to the stage followed eagerly by a gaggle of inquisitive news reporters. Accompanied by Sister Swing, Marilyn sweetly sang “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” to the joy of the crowd.
The evening was a grand success and celebrated the 20th anniversary of Humor Times and the 25th for Access Sacramento. Thanks to the many volunteers, staff, and Board to helped make the evening such a great success.
