The Richmond County Coroner’s Office is looking into the death of a 17-year-old who collapsed at the Augusta Youth Development Center.

The Coroner’s Office reported that Ozell Burch, 17, from Phoenix City, AL, collapsed while playing basketball on Sunday. He was taken to Wellstar MCG by EMS and pronounced dead at 12:41 P.M.

Authorities do not suspect any foul play, and an autopsy is scheduled.

The Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice also announced the death of the 17-year-old at the Augusta Youth Development Campus. Officials said the youth collapsed while playing basketball in the gym around 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 26. He was taken to Wellstar Medical Center, where he later died.

Even though there is no sign of foul play, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation will look into the incident.
