It’s been four days since Iza Rodriguez, a 15-year-old girl from San Antonio, went missing. Her family last saw her early Sunday morning when she left their home on the northwest side. They are worried she might have met someone online who pretended to be another young person.
Iza’s family is very scared about her disappearance. Gwendolyn Laport, Iza’s sister, said, “With each day that passes it gets scarier, thinking about where she is, who she’s with, or where she could be.”
Iza left her home in The Park at Vista Del Norte neighborhood, leaving a back door open. This was the last time anyone heard from her. She took a few belongings but no clothes and left her phone behind. Her family found worrying messages on her phone, showing she had been talking to a stranger online.
Gwendolyn said they have warned Iza about the dangers of talking to strangers online, but they fear someone took advantage of her. “Everyone was a teenager once. You think you know everything. It’s just so scary out there,” Gwendolyn said.
Iza’s disappearance has caused a lot of stress for her family, and they just want her back home. “Please come home. We miss her, we love her. She might think she’s in trouble for being gone, but we just want her back. We’re very worried about her,” Gwendolyn said.
