DO/LOVE/LIVE hosted a Veterans Day Community Party at McKinley Park and AccessLocal.TV was there to relay the ambitions and thoughts of two organizers.
We are celebrating our Veterans, Wednesday, November 4th on LiveWire with Veterans Organizations Sacramento Blue Star Moms and Forgotten Warriors. Sacramento Blue Star Moms will be in the studio sharing about their upcoming event and how they support our soldiers. Forgotten Warriors will be telling about the programs they offer and how people can get involved.
Sacramento Blue Star Moms is a Veteran’s non-profit organization that consists of mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, and legal guardians that have children serving in the in military, guard or reserves, or who are veterans. This group gathers items year round for CARE packages to send to our soldiers. They will be talking about their Camo Up Ride, bike party event happening on Friday, November 6th.

Founded in 2008 was the Veteran serving Veterans nonprofit, Forgotten Warriors. Their mission is “to address the vital needs of current and past Veterans struggling with re-entry to civilian life.” Forgotten Warriors offers advocacy, support and programs for Veterans.

As we gather together this Thursday and celebrate all our wonderfully abundant and diverse country, tune in at 4:00 PM on Access Sacramento cable channel 18 to appreciate and remember our nation’s veterans. The City of Sacramento Veteran’s Day Parade on Capitol Mall was videotaped November 11 in all its glory.
Leading off the celebration was Chuck Yeager, famous test pilot and the aviator who first broke the sound barrier. In addition to marching bands, classic cars, and local dignitaries including Congresswoman Doris Matsui, the parade featured several members of the famous Tuskeegee Airman.
After the parade, many of our local leaders shared their personal thoughts on this auspicious day and our Hometown-TV cameras documented it all. After the turkey, the football game, and before the “nap”, tune in and celebrate our brave men and women veterans on Access Sacramento Channel 18. Here’s the complete cablecast schedule:
