On August 12th the Health Equity Action Team held a press conference outside the Guild Theater in Oak Park to address UC Davis’ decision to abruptly stop accepting Medi-Cal patients. Thousands of families were left without reasonably close medical care, and now have to travel almost two hours to San Francisco to even pick up prescription medication.

On Thursday, November 19th, the information session titled, “Why Can’t Poor People See a Doctor at UC Davis Medical Center?” will be held at at 4625 44th Street, formerly known as Fruitridge Elementary. This event will be discussing the different changes made at UC Davis Medical Center throughout the years and what can be done to give low income families better opportunities through the medical center.
