This is a naturalistic video reflecting on what I describe as “my community”.
Hey everyone in Sacramento! I’m George Guzman and I’m writing this article about the safety at the river. The reason why I’m writing about this is because I lost a good friend recently to the river. She was a really good person, she was always positive about things, and she always had a smile on her face. A friend of mine told me she drowned at the river, she said the current took her under and then they pulled her out of the water. I could not believe what I was hearing, it was a big shock for me.
After a few days of feeling sad, I started thinking about the river and its dangers. I always go to the river and sometimes I don’t use a life jacket, not because I don’t want to but because it just never crosses my mind to put one on. I think a lot of people I know are like that. But right now I just would like people to be more careful when they go to the river. I know I’m going to be more careful, I feel like I’m more cautious now at the river and other places I go and things that I do.
