Across California, Youth Prepare To Vote For Many Reasons

All across California, young people are preparing to have their votes heard at the ballot box. The 2018 Midterm Elections have evoked a lot of emotions out of people, and many are predicting a larger-than-average turnout on November 6th.

A collaboration of youth media outlets, each of which receives support from The California Endowment, has published several articles about what the young people in their communities are thinking about as they get closer to Election Day. The following is a sample of just some of their efforts.

 

KHMER YOUTH HUSTLE VOTES FOR HOTEL WORKERS, RENT CONTROL

In the months leading up to the midterm elections, media outlets have speculated as to whether this might be the year young people show up to the polls in record numbers. Youth organizers are hopeful for high turnout on Nov. 6, having spent the last two years trying to galvanize their peers not only to show up to marches and protests but also to vote.
