The Mustangs gave up three fumbles and an interception to the Wildcats defense, twice less than 10-yards from the goal line on long marches down the field to stifle efforts by the offense.

Franklin sophomore quarterback Brandon Rundgren passed for three touchdowns with 10 of 18 completions and 185 yards.TD passes went to Jalen Lampley, Brady Johnson, and Nick Newton. Newton had six receptions overall for 108 yards, more than doubling his season totals.
Franklin’s ground attack was anchored by Daniel Ross who rushed for 108 yards on 12 carries including a 58-yard TD dash and Lampley who picked up 59 yards on 12 carries.
Monterey Trail’s touchdowns came on a two-yard run by quarterback Zach Larrier and a three-yard run by Aztlan Lopez. But the workhorse down the field for the Mustangs was Jeheil Badgett who carried the ball 11 times for 97 yards.
The Wildcats moved to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in league action. Monterey Trail is 3-3 overall and 1-2 in League.
