Folsom running back Brandon Rupchock, a 5-9 170-pound junior, caught one of those Curry TD passes for 25 yards, but also ran for TDs of his own on carries of three and four yards. He was named Access Sacramento’s Player of the Game for Folsom. “Our O-Line has the best performance every week,” said Rupchock following the game.

Fourth-ranked Elk Grove’s solo score was a 27-yard field goal by Hunter Petrecek in the 2nd quarter, capping a 50-yard drive  that took six minutes off the clock.  Elk Grove had plenty of long drives controlling time of possession by 30 minutes to Folsom’s 18-minutes, but the Herd was unable to convert the yardage into points.

None of #1-ranked Folsom’s six scoring drives took more than 1:30 from the clock, and in the 2nd half the Bulldogs went nearly 60 yards three times for TDs in less than 40-seconds each.

Hats off to Coach (Sam) Cole, my defensive coordinator, my defensive coaches and obviously the kids executed beautifully tonight. If we can hold somebody to three points, we’ll take it.”

The Access Sacramento Player of the Game for Elk Grove was their leading rusher Jaden Burns with 17 carries for 47 yards. Quarterback Jayden Marchado was sacked 6 times by the Folsom defense, losing just as many yards as Burns gained. Marchado also completed 15 of 32 passes for 149 yards.

In the other CIF-SJS semi-final, the #2-ranked St. Mary’s Rams of Stockton defeated the #3 ranked Oak Ridge Trojans 61-21.
