“Marlynn Smith”
Listen Up! is happy to present Opera Singer, Marlynn Smith. Marlynn performs locally and has toured all over the US and Europe. Her various Operatic performances include Madame Butterfly, Carmen, Porgy and Bess, among many others. She was also in the popular show, Dreamgirls.
If you would like to see a local live performance by Marlynn Smith she will be performing African American Spirituals at a Classical Concert at The Crocker Art Museum on Sunday, February 12th in celebration of Black History Month.
Marlynn performs a 20 minute set of songs just for us on this Listen Up! episode airing on Tuesday, January 17th at 11pm on Access Sacramento channel 17 and it will also be simulcast online at www.AccessSacramento.org click ‘watch 17′. It will also be available about a week later on Sacramento County Comcast On Demand.
Also be sure to check out a mini-interview with Marlynn Smith on AccessLocal.tv.
Listen Up! is starting off the new year by taking a look back into the Access Sacramento vault. In our efforts to preserve some of our local shows we have found more gems from 20 years ago. Flashback #11 includes some more classic tunes from The Mark Hummel Blues Band and The Porchupines.
We also found a very special performance by a lovely local couple performing on Live at Cafe Montreal. Their band was called Arc, but you may recognize them better as Kevin Seconds from the legendary 7 Seconds and Allyson Seconds, photography artist and musician who recently performed songs from her album Bag of Kittens on Listen Up!

Tune in to Listen Up! Sacramento for a trip back to 1992.
