Two of the most prolific programs and prominent head coaches in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section are scheduled to collide in a Capital Valley Conference (CVC) confrontation Friday evening when Terry Stark’s unbeaten Inderkum Tigers travel to Antelope to battle Matt Ray’s Titans.

Access Sacramento will spotlight this key CVC match-up on the Hometown Sports Game of the Week.  The live telecast begins at 7:00 pm and may be seen in Sacramento County on Comcast or Consolidated Communications Cable channel 17, and AT&T U-Verse channel 14.  The game will also be streamed live from AccessSacramento.org and on the NFHS Network.

Second-ranked Inderkum (7-0), headed only by Folsom in the Dimino’s Dozen weekly rankings, is on a typical Tiger roll, having devoured all competition at feeding time.  Terry Stark’s ever-formidable Wing-T offense continues to sparkle, averaging more than 52 points-per-game.

Leading the charge are Senior Quarterback Jamijah Ray (52%, 10 TD), whose effective passing to always-open targets De’angealo Lewis (10 catches, 3 TD), John Lain (6 catches, 3 TD), nicely balances the run-heavy offense.

Ray has the luxury of regulating a deep and dynamic brigade of speedy RBs.  Few teams feature the quality depth demonstrated by Dino Watson (530 yds, 6 TD, 2 rec TD), Aaron Espero (299 yds, 5 TD), Willie Hardy (279 yds, 3 TD), and Josiah Tyes (230 yds, 7 TD).

Inderkum’s hard-hitting defense is equally impressive.  Tyes is a 2-way standout at Middle Linebacker (53 tackles), who leads a rampaging Tigers’ defense that flies to the football.  Taking the lead are Defensive Tackles Michael People (44 tackles), Jalen Bryant (43 tackles), and Durrell Wright (30 tackles), and LB Hardy (31 tackles).  The Tigers defend the run extremely well, and their pass defense starts with applying pressure on opposing QBs.  Hardy, Bryant, Wright, and DE Joshua Trezvant have turned up the heat, accounting for 19.5 of the team’s 22.5 Sacks.

Ranked #21 in Dimino’s Dozen this week, Antelope (4-4) began its re-building year the hard way, losing its first three games, including losses to #1 Folsom and #6 Rocklin.  The Titans have since recovered and are back in the mix since winning three of their last 4 games and evening their season’s record.

Newly installed Junior Quarterback Quincy Gallon (49%, 7 TD, 6 Int, 3 Rushing TD) experienced a harsh baptism to varsity fire and is learning on the job.  Making Gallon’s job easier is the solid trio of RBs Quvonte Thomas (420 yds, 4 TD) and Isaiah Nash (422 yds), and Drevon Love (134 yds, 5 TD).

Gallon spreads his attention to a variety of receivers including Wide Receivers Leondra Huerta-Moore (9 catches, 2 TD), Brian Thomas (11 catches, TD), Brandon Seetahal (7 catches, TD), and Tight End Carlos Young (5 catches, 2 TD).

Linebackers Brian Frank (58 tackles), Marcole Wilson (50 tackles), and Henrick Movsisyan (22 tackles, 3 fumble recoveries), and Defensive Back Jerry Huddleston (42 tackles, 2 Int, fumble recovery) lead the defense.

Inderkum is the definite favorite in this match-up, but the Titans should remain mindful of not playing the Titans short, especially on the road.
