Ten Winners to be named in “A Place Called Sacramento” Script Competition

Volunteer Film Actors and Technicians called for Live Announcement
Access Sacramento‘s 20th annual “A Place Called Sacramento” Film Festival will announce this year’s 10 winning writers on Wed. May 8 at 6:00 p.m. from the Coloma Community Center Courtyard during its annual volunteer Cast and Crew Call.

After three rounds of judging from all the entries, the top 10 script writers will be announced to volunteers who hope to be picked as actors and technicians as each of the scripts will shift into production of a 10-minute short film during the Spring and Summer.

Annually, more than 200 volunteers show up for the announcement and “Instant Audition” as the writer-turned-producers build their teams in the Sacramento region’s original and largest home-grown volunteer Film Festival.
“There is always such a high energy level and positive spirit when this many film makers are gathered in one place,” said Gary Martin, Festival Director. “Getting onto the big screen at a red carpet world premiere, getting professional movie credit, and seeing yourself on TV is such a great reward. That’s why ‘A Place Called Sacramento’ is so popular.”
Now in its 20th year, Access Sacramento’s film Festival has had sold out world premiere screening the last two years at the area’s largest movie auditorium, the historic Crest Theatre in downtown Sacramento.
