After an early 10-0 lead by Oak Ridge, the Folsom defense stepped up in the 2nd half and the offense’s steady assault put the Bulldogs up 17-10 with 8:41 to go in the 4th Quarter. Senior QB Joe Curry completed a 2-yard pass to Brad Jenner to cap a 10 play 61 yard drive. Although unknown then, when kicker Troy Calderara booted the PAT, it would be the winning point.

Oak Ridge mounted a late 12 play, 80-yard assault in just 1:23 to bring the score to 17-16 on a 15-yard pass from Marco Baldacchino to Austin Eastman.

Oak Ridge's Davis Lang recovers an on-side kick giving the Trojan's one more chance with :47 in the game.

Oak Ridge opted to try for a winning 2-point conversion, but the snap was bobbled leaving only 0:50 on the clock.  Even though Oak Ridge’s on-side kickoff gave them the ball back with :47 to go on the Folsom 31-yard line, Oak Ridge was unable to move the ball at all in four downs, returning the ball to Folsom with :12 left for the Bulldog’s final take-a-knee play to end the game.

Access Sacramento’s Will James and Jim Dimino call the highlights:

Curry completed 22 of 25 passes for 228 yards with one interception.. Running back Davin Simmons handled all of the positive running attack for Folsom, earning 83 hard earned yards on 18 carries.

Leading rusher for Oak Ridge was Michael Pittman with 57 yards on 12 carries. QB Baldacchino had 41 yards on 18 carries, but he was dropped for losses on four successive carries in the 2nd half, eating up what might have been a much higher total.

Folsom and Oak Ridge will both get playoff berths when the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section announces the brackets at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in a live broadcast on the NFHS Network.

Access Sacramento plans to carry playoff football for the first three rounds and will announce its schedule weekly.
