Sacramento’s Alchemist Community Development Corporation is currently offering other community organizations table space at its two upcoming community
health fairs in South Sacramento. The fairs are located at two previous “market makeover” host stores which were participants in Alchemist’s program to bring healthy fruits and vegetable to independent grocers in the “Building Healthy Communities” zone.
Alchemist is seeking community participants to present on public health issues, perform health screenings, promote healthy lifestyle choices, reproductive health, as well as on civic and environmental health issues.
“If it makes the world a better place, we want your organization to promote it!” says Bridgitte Rivers, Program Coordinator for Alchemist CDC. Because the event is open to the public of all ages, Rivers is asking that organizations plan on having at least one activity to share with kids and adults.
The first fair will be on Saturday, November 14th at Sam’s Market, 4123 43rd Avenue. The second will be on Saturday, November 21st at the Elder Creek Market, 7025 Elder Creek Blvd. Both events are from noon to 2:00 pm.
