Vista del Lago‘s offensive and defensive air game piled on both yards and  TD’s to defeat Bradshaw Christian 34-14 in a non-conference football contest at Folsom’s Prairie City Stadium in the Access Sacramento Game of the Week.

Eagles’ quarterback Brent Schaeffer threw for four touchdowns, two to Blake Martin for 40 and 29 yards, while on defense, Ney Vencer grabbed another TD on a 12-yard interception return.

Martin was named Access Sacramento’s Player of the Game for Vista del Lago, pulling in six receptions for 101 yards.  Schaeffer was 10 for 20 with 193 yards overall.

Bradshaw Christian had plenty of long drives, marching down the field and picking up 356 yards in total offense on 67 plays. The Pride controlled the ball 29 minutes to the Eagles 19, but two interceptions and a fumble set up short TD drives for Vista del Lago and was the difference in the game.

Running back Wes Lopez was named Access Sacramento’s Player of the Game for the Pride, on the merits of 18 carries for 128 yards including a TD run of 3 yards, capping a 90-yard 14-play drive in the 2nd quarter that ate up nearly five minutes on the clock.

Coach Mike Struebing‘s Vista del Lago Eagles’ overall record moves to 2-2, while Coach Drew Rickert‘s Bradshaw Christian Pride is now 3-1 overall.
