Living in a busy city can sometimes be tough on young ladies trying to grow up and find their way. One of Sacramento’s newest non-profit organizations is Ruby’s Gems helps young ladies do just that. The organization works with girls and helps them become ladies. They mentor and guide the young ladies and give them opportunities they may not otherwise have known about. Work and social skills and a positive attitude are just a small part of Ruby’s Gems.  Join us on LiveWire! to meet Priscilla “Cil” Harris, one of the representatives of the organization,  learn more about this new and wonderful organization and a very special fundraising event they will be having at the Oak Park Community Center on May 24th and their summer programs which begin in June.

Ruby’s Gem’s has a brand new Facebook page. Please visit to ‘like’ them.

We will also get a visit from Access Sacramento Executive Director, Gary Martin. He will be on the program to share information about the upcoming 2014 A Place Called Sacramento Film Festival Cast & Crew Call. The date is June 4th at 6:00 pm in the courtyard/backyard area of the Coloma Community Center. The community is invited to and here the official public announcement of the 10 PCS winners at the Cast & Crew Call. The scripts are currently still in the judging process, but you can meet the winners and even sign up to participate in creating their film over the summer then you can watch the films and celebrate at the premiere at the Historic Crest Theatre on October 5th.
